Mykola Kulish is an outstanding and original Ukrainian playwright, a representative of the Executed Renaissance, a talented writer and director. His plays are in no way inferior to the best world standards.
He was engaged in literary activity all his life: having lived for 44 years, he wrote for 30 of them, even while in exile.
For writing anti-communist plays, he was sentenced to 10 years in special camps. He was kept on Solovky as a dangerous criminal, after which Mykola was shot.
